Physical and chemical properties

Fitoil has the effect of: increasing droplet size, reducing evaporation of the drops from the sprayed surface, increasing the contact surface on the sprayed parts, reducing volatilisation and sensitivity to drift and increasing the amount of sprayed mixture deposited on the surface (by about 20-30%). These results are in line with the body of experimental efficacy data collected over the years, and explain why, when the dose of plant-protection product is reduced, FITOIL is able to keep its efficacy high.

The application of FITOIL with reduced concentrations (by 50%) of copper oxychloride, copper hydroxide and copper sulphate provided an overall level of disease control that did not differ significantly from that obtained using the same active ingredients at full dosage. For what concerns selectivity toward the crop, the plants in each experiment were examined with respect to their vegetative state, development, and product quality, and no signs of phytotoxicity were observed.

Fitoil can be used in mixtures with reduced dosages (about 50%) copper products, to increase their efficacy, in the ratio of 100-150 ml/hl but however not less to 1-1,5 litre/ha.

Addition of Fitoil in no way alters the normal strategy, dictated by good agricultural practice, for the use of copper based products
